Cameroon has one of the highest per capita incomes in Sub-Saharan Africa. With a 70% of the population involved in the agricultural sector, it is an important exporter of bananas, cocoa, palm oil, coffee and sugar. Furthermore, oil exploitation, despite its decrease since 1985, remains a fundamental sector in the national economy.
