The Democratic Republic of Congo is the second most important economy in Africa and has one of the largest reserves of natural and mineral resources. It can be considered as the biggest worldwide producer of mineral cobalt and one of the largest producers of copper and diamonds, the latter coming mainly from the province of Kasai. It also has specific reserves of strategic minerals, as gold and coltan.
